After qualifying as a Notary Public in London, Bridget Ellison joined De Berti Jacchia Franchini Forlani in 1978 and became a partner in 1993.
Bridget has practised for more than 30 years in the field of corporate and commercial law, with experience in M&A and international transactional work. In the last 10 years, she has also worked in the area of data protection law assisting both Italian and multinational clients in a broad range of industries on data protection issues. She also assists private non-Italian clients in relation to succession and trust matters, as well as property conveyancing in Italy.
Bridget has developed expertise in assisting clients to understand and address the sometimes complex challenges posed by data protection legislation, and in the presence of constantly evolving technology and marketing methods.
She has assisted clients in the publishing industry (a well-known publisher on professional topics), in the industrial and telecommunications sectors, in the luxury goods field, as well as one of the major Italian job agencies in connection with privacy issues.
Bridget speaks at seminars both in Italy and the UK on privacy issues and also on Italian real property matters.
She represents the firm as member of the British Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Milan.
Assisted a leading Italian employment agency chain in relation to multiple data protection issues, such as geolocalisation of employees by use of smartphones, procedures relating to handling of sensitive data, training of employees, GDPR compliance. Assistance in relation to an inspection by the Italian Police (Privacy Branch) on behalf of the Italian Data Protection Authority and, in cooperation with criminal law specialists, following a data breach.
