Giovanni De Berti is an Italian avvocato and an English non-practising barrister of Gray’s Inn. Co-founding and senior partner of the Firm until 2012, Giovanni is now a full time civil, commercial and family mediator.

In private practice for more than 50 years, he acted as domestic and international counsel in commercial and corporate matters, merger and acquisition, joint ventures, sale of goods, agency, distribution, construction, media and entertainment, product liability, as well as a litigator, arbitrator and mediator in these and other fields.

As a mediator, he has acted in disputes relating to commercial and corporate matters, agency, art, construction, defamation, distribution, joint ventures, media, mergers and acquisitions, product liability, real estate, sale of goods, succession, also in connection with separation and divorce proceedings.

He has been included in the lists of and/or appointed as arbitrator or mediator by the Chamber of Arbitration of Milan, European Court of Arbitration, International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce, Italian Arbitration Association, Italo-Swedish Chamber of Commerce, Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Italy, Vienna International Arbitral Centre, Chartered Institute of Arbitrator (Mediation Fellow), CCPIT/CCOIC Mediation Center of Beijing, International Mediation Institute, Italy-China International Business Mediation Centre, Milan Bar Mediation Institution, as well as ad hoc domestic and international arbitrations and mediations.

Giovanni is mentioned by his peers in the 2011 through 2019 Who’s Who Legal of international commercial arbitration as one of the leading practitioners in Italy.

Author of books and articles, speaker, lecturer and trainer on ADR at congresses, seminars and workshops with Italian and international institutions and associations.
