Matteo Bilei has been an associated at De Berti Jacchia Franchini Forlani since 2015.

Matteo specializes in corporate and commercial law, dealing mainly with issues related to corporate governance, directors’ liability, extraordinary corporate transactions (M&A, joint ventures, etc.), corporate reorganizations and commercial agreements (commercial leases, general T&Cs of sale/purchase, supply, agency, distribution, private tender, partnership, sponsorship, marketplace, etc.).

In addition, since his dissertation and subsequently in his professional activity, Matteo has gained a specific experience in the area of compliance and anti-corruption, with particular reference to the criminal liability of companies and organizational models under Italian Legislative Decree 231/2001.

In this area, thanks to his activity specialized in corporate and commercial law, Matteo developed a particular expertise in assessing certain areas of risk related to: decisions on corporate governance structures, dynamics in business relationships, issues related to corporate acquisitions, as well as internal investigations regarding the adequacy of, and compliance with, corporate processes. In addition, Matteo regularly assists the activities of the Supervisory Boards of several leading Italian and multinational companies.

From 2017 to 2020, he was on part-time secondment at the Italian company of a major German multinational group, acting in this context as in-house legal counsel.

Matteo is regularly active in assisting the Scandinavian clients of the firm. His practice also includes an important focus on assisting companies located in the Marche region (his home territory), which in particular have interests and/or business relationships in foreign countries.

He is author of articles on topics pertaining to corporate and commercial law.
