THE AVERAGE TERM FOR REGISTRATION OF IP RIGHTS IN RUSSIA IN 2019 HAS DECREASED IN COMPARISON TO 2018

The Russian PTO (Rospatent) has reported that the term to achieve registration of IP rights in Russia during January – May 2019 has decreased in comparison to the first 5 months in 2018, despite the fact that the amount of applications for registration of trademarks, designs and computer programs in 2019 increased. The statistics shows that registration of a trademark took about 6,14 months in 2019 in comparison to 7,85 months in 2018, registration of designs – 4,74 months in 2019 vs. 6,06 in 2018, granting of patents for inventions – 6.63 months in 2019 vs. 8.91 months, granting patent for utility models – 1,66 months in 2019 vs. 3,54 months in 2018, registration of computer programs – 0,49 months in 2019 vs. 1,69 months in 2018.
